Boiler auxiliary equipment - periodic blowdown expansion tank

Boiler auxiliary equipment - Periodic blowdown expander: This device receives periodic blowdown water from the boiler, or waste hot water discharged at a pressure higher than that of the periodic blowdown expansion tank. It reduces the pressure and expands the volume to separate secondary steam and waste hot water. The secondary steam is discharged into the atmosphere or used as a heat source, while the waste hot water is generally discharged into the sewer system via a blowdown cooling pond.
