The power plant's closed-loop circulating cooling water is cooled through this heat exchanger via open water cooling and then provides cooling water to various power plant equipment in the closed-loop cooling system.

Structural Features
●Shell and tube structure is adopted. The heat exchanger structure is simple, strong, long-lasting, and easy to maintain.
●Closed-loop circulating cooling water generally flows through the shell side, and open cooling water flows through the tube side. The equipment has low heat loss, high heat exchange efficiency, and is easy to maintain.
●The structural design is optimized by computer to meet the requirements of thermal calculation and tube bundle vibration calculation. The tube bundle adopts effective vibration prevention measures. The tube bundle support baffle forms include single-arch type, double-arch type, annular type, and external flow guiding type with baffle rod, etc.
●The equipment adopts anti-corrosion design. The selection of materials and anti-corrosion measures meets the corrosion life requirements of the fluids on both sides. Header materials generally include carbon steel, carbon steel lined with rubber or resin, stainless steel or titanium composite plates, etc.; Heat transfer tube materials generally include: 304, 316L, 317L stainless steel tubes; H68A, HSn70-1, HAL77-2, BFe30-1-1 copper tubes; TA1, TA2 titanium tubes, etc.
●For cooling water with high chloride ion content, even seawater, austenitic stainless steel tubes and titanium tubes are widely used as heat transfer tubes.
●The heat exchanger specifications generally include φ16, φ19, φ25 smooth tubes and their threaded tubes.
●The connection methods between the heat transfer tubes and the tube plates include: strong expansion, strong welding, and strong expansion and sealing welding.

Setting of various interface pipe seats of the closed-loop circulating cooling water heat exchanger
1. Inlet and outlet of shell-side fluid;
2. Safety valve interface on the shell side;
3. Vent and drain interfaces on the shell side;
4. Temperature and pressure measurement ports at the inlet and outlet of the shell-side fluid.
●Arrangement (direction and setting according to needs) of inlet and outlet of shell-side fluid
1. Single tube pass and single shell pass: The inlet and outlet of the shell-side fluid are arranged in pure countercurrent;
2. Even number of tube passes and multiple shell passes: The inlet and outlet of the tube-side fluid are on one side; the inlet and outlet of the shell-side fluid are arranged in countercurrent near the header side;
3. Even number of tube passes and single shell pass: The inlet and outlet of the tube-side fluid are on one side; the inlet of the shell-side fluid is close to the header side, and the outlet of the shell-side fluid is on the opposite side of the header.
